As your puppy reaches 6 months they have many hormones floating around. This is when they hit adolescence (The terrible two’s!) At this stage, you may find loose lead walking, any training you have done and recall goes out of the window when you see another person or dog. It’s not you, I promise. Its normal and at this time, essential to ensure consistency in your training to achieve a reliable recall, nice loose lead walking and build self-control to help them think before they act.

If you have rescued a dog, your dog has inherited some habits since lockdown or you now want to build upon your previous training then this course is for you. A trained dog is a happy dog.

At Callander K9 we offer small group classes of 5-6 dogs for 6 weeks.  We welcome the whole family to come along. Having consistency with every family member will ensure your dog knows exactly what is expected of him/her.

Our training is outdoors in a fully secure training field. We prefer to train outdoors as it’s real life! Your dog will find outside much more difficult to concentrate and to choose YOU over the distractions, so from day one we set them up for success. We supply your raised bed, water / water bowl, sanitizer and long leads where required.

We pride ourselves on rewards based training through games. You don’t need to spend hours a week training. By playing short games we will not only cover the course below, we will help build an unbreakable bond between you.

• Self – Control with behaviours
• Leave / Retrieve / Drop / Play
• Loose Lead Walking with distractions
• Body language / Husbandry (Handling) / Diet and exercise
• Recall with distractions
• Socialisation – Meeting other dog’s & people as they get older
• Calmness – Settle in your bed or Cafe / Calm greetings with other dogs
• Enrichment ideas and future dog sports
• Access to email / phone support  and closed facebook support group

This course will be held every Tuesday starting the 12th April for 6 weeks 5.30-6.30pm (outdoors) at my purpose built training area.
